A look back at the new mom’s pregnancy, who once cooed, “I want to stay pregnant forever.”
A very round Berry was spotted leaving the Beverly Hills Bristol Farms grocery store March 10. Perhaps she stopped to stock up on pepperocinis (Italian peppers). The 41-year-old told the Insider she started to “eat them out of the jar and then drink the juice” after she got pregnant. [PAGEBREAK]
Just a few months before her due date, Berry – seen here leaving Pane E Vino restaurant in West Hollywood Feb. 9 – told Reveal magazine, “I’m worried about giving birth. I’ve been pretty cool about my pregnancy up until lately, but suddenly I’m realizing that there’s a baby that’s got to come out and someone is going to have to be there to push it out! Emotionally, I’m a bit of a mess. Besides all the hormones bubbling and boiling inside me, the anticipation is starting to get to me. I’m more nervous now than I was during the Oscars.”[PAGEBREAK]
Even in her third trimester Berry was still active around town, shopping on Robertson Blvd. (pictured above), dining at P.F. Chang’s with Aubry, and visiting friends in the Hollywood Hills. [PAGEBREAK]
“I am three times the girl I used to be,” Berry told the crowd at the Palm Springs Film Festival in January. The star, who received the Desert Palm Achievement Award for Best Actress, joked “this is the first red carpet where I didn’t have to think about sucking in my stomach – because I can’t!” [PAGEBREAK]
While promoting her recent film Things We Lost in the Fire, Berry (pictured above at the film’s London premiere in October) told Oprah Winfrey, “I think [the role] validated that I was meant to be a mother because every day I dealt with the character as a mother and thinking as a mother. It let me know that I must be a mother.”[PAGEBREAK]
“I want my kids to realize it’s only through hard work that any success or real joy comes,” the actress (seen here at the Things We Lost in the Fire premiere in Los Angeles) told InStyle magazine. “It’s not about money; it’s the intangible rewards – having integrity and doing what you say you’re going to do.”[PAGEBREAK]
During an October visit to the Late Show with David Letterman, Berry (pictured above on her way into the studio) told the host, “We just had [an ultrasound] done and it surprisingly kind of looks like you!” [PAGEBREAK]
Berry (at the Things We Lost in the Fire Tribeca premiere in October) and Aubry wanted the baby’s gender to be a surprise, but the actress told InStyle, “’Isn’t She Lovely,’ by Stevie Wonder, has been playing a lot in our house. And for some reason, that song keeps coming up on my iPod too – even though it’s on shuffle. We’re like, ‘It’s a sign! It’s a girl!’ “[PAGEBREAK]
Brushing up on his baby knowledge, Berry’s main squeeze turned to Dr. Phil’s Family First book for help. “Great Book. I recommend it,” he told People magazine. Aubry, who reportedly pampered Berry (seen above out shopping just days before announcing her baby news) with foot massages during the pregnancy, even has advice for future fathers. “Don’t say she’s fat!” he told Extra.[PAGEBREAK]
Congratulations to Halle and Gabriel!
