Halsey lands Wonder Woman role in new animated superhero film

Singer Halsey has landed a dream role as Wonder Woman, opposite Nicolas Cage, in a new animated superhero film.

Cage will voice Superman, while Halsey has snapped the role of Amazonian warrior in Teen Titans GO! to the Movies.

Rapper Lil Yachty will also make his voiceover debut as Green Lantern in the film, which is set to hit theatres on 27 July (18).

It’s not Halsey’s first animated role – she has previously guest starred as Cindy in American Dad!
The new Teen Titans movie, directed by Aaron Horvath and Peter Rida Michail, will also feature the voices of Kristen Bell, Will Arnett, Khary Payton, and Tara Strong.

Meanwhile, Superman is an ironic role for Cage to take on, because he was originally slated to play the superhero in Tim Burton’s scrapped 1998 Superman Lives film. He also named his son Kal-El, Superman’s birth name, and once was the owner of a rare issue of Superman’s 1938 comic debut, according to USA Today.
