Hamilton actor Leslie Odom Jr. scores book deal

Former Hamilton star Leslie Odom Jr. has landed a book deal.
The actor and singer rose to fame for his portrayal of Aaron Burr in the hit Broadway musical, for which he won the 2016 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical.
Odom, who made his final appearance in Hamilton last July (16), now has a deal with publishing company Feiwel & Friends, reports The Associated Press.
The 35-year-old is currently working on the tome, to be titled Failing Up: How to Rise Above, Do Better, and Never Stop Learning, which will reflect on his setbacks and success in life.
Prior to Hamilton, Odom had recurring roles in TV shows such as CSI: Miami, musical show Smash and Person of Interest. He also made guest appearances on several programmes including Gilmore Girls, Grey’s Anatomy, Supernatural and The Good Wife, and recently wrapped filming on Kenneth Branagh’s adaptation of Murder on the Orient Express in which he plays Dr. Arbuthnot.
Odom’s book is due to hit shelves in March next year (18).
