Escada Gives ‘Em Hil
She’s played a boy and boxer–not the most glam of roles (unless you count the Oscars that have come along with them)–but Hilary Swank is now taking on the equally tough fight of making her mark in the fashion world. Fresh off her recent ads as the face of Guerlain, on Thursday Swank hosted a, dare we say … Swanky (sorry!) soiree at the new Escada boutique inside Rodeo Drive’s Beverly Wilshire hotel. The brand has been gaining popularity among Hollywood’s hot young things–Katherine Heigl is a devoted fan and has donned the dresses for the red carpet–shedding it’s longstanding reputation as a ladies-who-lunch line.
The gorgeous new store was done up in sleek silver and black with purple accents. Ever the fashionista, Naomi Watts’ eggplant-colored ensemble matched the décor. Maria Bello and other babes also enjoyed the champagne sipping – Melissa George, Sophia Bush and Gabrielle Union were also on hand with Swank. Hollywood’s de rigeur DJs were abandoned in favor of Parisian pop-pusher DJ Monsieur Velvet for that European vibe.
“It’s classy, it’s classic, the clothes have dignity and your boobs aren’t falling out,” Union said of why she loved her Escada “urban princess” look. “There will be no wardrobe malfunctions in Escada. It’s the dress you can go to that your mom will love and so will your man.”

About Face
The devil may wear Prada, but that’s soooo 2006. So when Emily Blunt was announced as the “Face of the Future” at this week’s Women in Film luncheon, the breakout star (who won a Globe for her work in Devil) donned a dress from MaxMara. The Italian company sponsors the award and has long been a supporter of WIF, a non-profit organization that supports a network of women in the industry. Blunt was feted at a luncheon at the Sunset Tower Hotel’s poolside restaurant, and will receive the award at next month’s Crystal + Lucy Awards.
Valley Girls Gone Wylde
The head may be dead as a fashion trend, but the designer that launched a thousand skulls (and ubiquitous copies) is going strong. Not that Hollywood’s A-listers need an excuse to party at the Chateau Marmont, but designer Paula Wylde’s book party on Tuesday brought out Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Marley Shelton, Rebecca Gayheart and McSteamy himself, Eric Dane. OK, so maybe it wasn’t as um, wylde, as one of Lindsay’s late nights, but the designer’s dinner launched her lookbook, Death Valley, that showcased her sophisticated spring collection. Lots of black for this chic crowd but nary a skull scarf/tee/hoodie in sight.[PAGEBREAK]Fashion Finds

Royal Treatment
Jessica Biel’s sexy back is known as the best butt in the business (sorry, J.Lo). Sure she can credit her rigorous workout schedule, but she’s also been spotted in Ankh Royalty, which might have something to do with it. The pants’ perfect fit flatter even the flattest derriere and come in lightweight terry cloth for summer. The line’s signature long-sleeved waffle Henley is also a celeb fave for those who want to look cute post-workout or stay comfy when traveling (even if they’re not being crushed in coach)–Denise Richards and Eva Longoria have been spotted deplaning in the duds.
Footing the Bill
She may be getting ready to put a ring on her finger when she weds boyfriend Tony Parker in Paris this July, but Eva Longoria has already put diamonds on her feet. The soap star recently picked up a pair of Girl Two Doors Down metallic flip-flops, which are adorned with a diamond ring charm. The inside of the flats are emblazoned with the line: “If you have to ask you cannot afford me.” (Don’t worry you can… they sell for only $65 here.) We hear Jessica Alba got a few for her own feet… maybe she’s sending a message to boyfriend Cash Warren?[PAGEBREAK]News Notes

Jolie goes Japanese
Angelina Jolie has been working tirelessly to make the world a better place… and now she’s helping to beautify it. She’s not joining the environmental movement though (that’s Brad’s forte), but taking on a new role as the face of Shisedo beauty. That winged Audrey Hepburn-esque eye has gotten her through many a morning interview looking fresh, so it makes sense that she’s going to be modeling their powder and liquid liners. Though she shot the ads in Hollywood, the Japanese company’s pics will only run overseas. But of course, they’ll be all over the internet faster than you can say “She adopted another baby?”
Miller Right
Surprise, surprise: Sienna Miller is coming out with her own fashion line. Okay, so her detractors gripe that she’s a copy Kate (as in Moss), but the mega-model’s Topshop line wasn’t the critical success it was supposed to be once the short shorts and flimsy tanks actually hit the stores. This week the first photos of Sienna‘s twenty8twelve line hit the internet and are getting much better buzz. Of course it could have something to do with her partner, sister Savannah Miller. Savannah graduated from fashion powerhouse Central St. Martins and worked with Alexander McQueen. The line is backed by Pepe Jeans–who Sienna recently shot a series of topless ads for. Kate would be proud.
H&M Getting a Brazilian?
H&M might soon stand for T&A if this rumor proves true: sources say that Gisele Bundchen recently left her Victoria’s Secret contract because she is planning on designing a line of lingerie for the international retail giant.
