Mac Daddy at Memphis
What did big-time TV titan Bernie Mac do when he had a big bash–specifically, to celebrate the 100th episode of his Fox sit-com–to throw, America? He headed over to the new Hollywood Boulevard hot spot Memphis, the landmark last home standing on Hollywood Boulevard, a three-story Victorian style house with a large wooden porch which was once a kindergarten school where Charlie Chaplin sent his kids and now serves as an of-the-moment nightclub frequented by star scene-sters Jessica Alba and Paris Hilton. Bernie’s guest list, which included his co-star Kellita Smith and celebrity cronies Wesley Snipes, Bookeem Woodbine, Shar Jackson and Jason Alexander (Britney Spears‘ ex), filled their plates with soul food like BBQ ribs, fried chicken, spicy mac & cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy and a banana pudding and mini lemon cakes. The crowd also enjoyed chocolate cigars (until you got a whiff the chocolaty aroma, it was hard to tell it wasn’t a real stogie) with a personalized Bernie Mac band and served with smooth Johnnie Walker Gold. It was a chilly night, but fortunately the guests also walked out of Memphis with a personalized blanket, just to prove that big Bernie’s a cozy, cuddly guy at heart.

What’s in a name?
