Hugh Jackman warns fans about meet-and-greet scam

Hugh Jackman is urging fans to be wary of a scam artist creating bogus meet-and-greets on his current tour.
A conman using fake social media accounts in the actor’s name has been targeting The Greatest Showman star’s followers and offering them personal get togethers with Hugh in exchange for cash.
The actor, who is currently in the middle of a six month world tour, took to Instagram on Monday (15Jul19) and wrote: “I have not and will never ask anyone to pay to meet me on social media.”
He also thanked the fans who had alerted him to the scam, adding, “Please do not give anyone you do not know your personal information! Please hear me… If someone claiming to be me is asking you for money… it is a SCAM. Please keep yourselves and your family safe.”
Jackman is currently on the North American leg of his The Man. The Music. The Show. world tour, which he launched in Glasgow, Scotland back in May.
