An opinionated young woman and an arrogant, rich snob overcome their initial antipathy and various other social obstacles to fall in love.

Austen’s novel was previously adapted to film as “Pride and Prejudice” (USA/1940), directed by Robert Z. Leonard and starring Greer Garson and Laurence Olivier (USA/1940).

Based on the novel “Pride and Prejudice” written by Jane Austen and published by T. Egerton, 1813.

Feature directorial debut for Joe Wright.
