Val Kilmer’s son Jack has landed his biggest role to date in Parisian terrorist attack movie Violent Delights.
Jack was last seen in 2016’s The Nice Guys alongside Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe, where he had a small part as projectionist Chet.
In Violent Delights, Jack takes on a much bigger role, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Based on the real events surrounding the November 2015 attacks in the French capital, the film follows a group of musicians and art students who find themselves caught in the crossfire. Jack plays Michael, the frontman of a punk rock group. The movie also focuses on two expressionist painters and a young man of an immigrant family, played by Timur Magomedgadzhiev.
Rachel Palumbo helms the feature, marking her big screen debut, while Taylor Laughlin has penned the script, and is also acting as producer alongside Bruce Nahin. Kelsey Roberts will executive produce.
Shooting is set to begin in the summer (17), at locations in Paris and Los Angeles.
Jack, whose first cinema outing was the James Franco-penned film Palo Alto opposite James, Emma Roberts and Nat Wolff, has a further four films currently in production. He’ll once again work with James in drama Pretenders, and he can also be seen in Huntsville with Sophie Turner and Dylan McDermott.
Jack, whose mother is British actress Joanne Whalley, has also modelled in the past, starring in Saint Laurent’s Permanent Collection campaign in 2014 and walking for the French label.
“My parents always encouraged me to do creative stuff, to do weird stuff,” Jack previously told Complex. “My parents were always really cool with what I was into. They were willing to support me in doing whatever. I was very fortunate. I was never one to sit down and write a plan for my future.”
