James Bay wants to join Ed Sheeran as wedding singer duo

James Bay wants to team up with fellow British rocker Ed Sheeran to become the ultimate wedding singers.
Lovers proposing marriage have become a regular sight at Ed’s gigs, and James says that since his rise to the top of the charts he’s had a number of similar romantic moments at his own shows.
As a result, the Hold Back the River singer, who was named Best British Solo Artist at the BRIT Awards on Wednesday (24Feb16), feels he and his fellow singer/songwriter could form a travelling wedding band.
“Me and Ed have got a good sideline there, a nice wedding double act,” he tells Britain’s Daily Star. “Between us we’ve probably helped loads of couples pop the question.
“I picture us in 30 years time going around in a van together… just doing weddings, turning up with a couple of banjos.”
The musician recalls the first time he saw a couple commit to each other at one his shows at a British music festival, saying, “There’s been tears and a number of engagements this past year.
“The first time was at the Isle of Wight Festival when a little circle cleared in front of me for this fella to propose to his lady – that was cool.”
However, James has a way to go before matching Ed in the romance stakes, as last year (15) the Thinking Out Loud singer surprised two Australian fans with a special wedding performance and even helped Little Mix star Jesy Nelson’s rocker fiancee Jake Roche propose at his show in Manchester, England.
