Jana Kramer reworking schedule to accommodate family life

Singer/actress Jana Kramer is rejigging her hectic work schedule as competing on Dancing with the Stars has left her little time with her daughter.
The former One Tree Hill star is currently showing off her fancy footwork on the U.S. ballroom contest, but fitting in practice sessions with her professional partner Gleb Savchenko has proven tough as she continues to perform concerts while adjusting to life as a single mother to baby girl Jolie.
In a candid blog post for People.com, Kramer admits she is becoming more and more confident in her dancing skills week to week, but it’s her responsibilities away from the dancefloor which have sometimes suffered.
She writes, “I also feel like I’m getting a handle on balancing being a mom, touring and doing the show now, but some days seem impossible. Friday night I took a red eye to get to Atlanta for a show on Saturday. Gleb and I had about an hour of sleep before rehearsal Saturday morning, but we got energized and excited at rehearsal and got through it…”
Revealing she is in the process of scaling down her schedule, she adds, “I will admit, I’ve had to tell my management that we have to figure out a way to move things around because I need more time with my daughter and to take care of myself.
“I am still nursing my rib injury, but really it’s about being with my daughter more. I’m burning the candle at both ends and I just need to make sure I’m taking enough time to have some peace and family time.”
Jana previously suffered a sprained muscle between her ribs, but she ignored doctors’ advice to rest up after the September (16) incident, and instead continued to dance through the pain, insisting, “I wouldn’t give up this DWTS for anything.”
The 32-year-old split from her husband, American footballer Mike Caussin, in August (16) and it was subsequently revealed the athlete had entered a rehabilitation centre for undisclosed reasons.
The couple wed in May, 2015.
