Janet Jackson returns to spotlight at Paris Fashion Week

Janet Jackson returned to the public eye on Saturday (05Mar16) for the first time since undergoing throat surgery.
The superstar has been keeping a low profile since having to postpone a series of tour dates to undergo treatment for a mystery ailment in December (15), but she was front and centre at designer Haider Ackermann’s runway presentation for Paris Fashion Week this weekend.
The 49-year-old, who was dressed all in black, looked healthy and happy as she took her front row seat at the fashion show, and happily smiled for the cameras.
The singer, who covered up with a black beanie and scarf, later headed backstage to congratulate her pal Haider on his latest collection.
Janet’s rare appearance emerges two months after she was forced to deny rumours suggesting she had been diagnosed with cancer.
“Remember…believe it when you hear it from my lips,” read a message shared on her Twitter.com page. “The rumors are untrue. I do not have cancer. I’m recovering.”
“My doctors have approved my concert as scheduled in Europe, and as I promised, the postponed shows will be rescheduled,” she continued. “Thank you for your prayers and love.”
Janet is due to resume her Unbreakable World Tour on 30 March (16), when she will perform in Birmingham, England, but before then, she will hit the stage at the Dubai World Cup horse race in the United Arab Emirates on 26 March (16).
“I am excited to perform for the global audience at this year’s Dubai World Cup,” Janet announced in a statement last month (Feb16). “The entire Unbreakable company is looking forward to traveling with me to Dubai and being part of one of the world’s most prestigious events.”
