Jason Aldean to honour Gregg Allman at CMT Music Awards

Country stars Jason Aldean and Darius Rucker are set to perform a tribute to Gregg Allman at the upcoming CMT Music Awards.
The Allman Brothers Band star passed away in his Savannah, Georgia home on Saturday (27May17) of complications from liver cancer at the age of 69.
CMT President Brian Philips told The Associated Press on Wednesday that a number of musicians have reached out to him to see how they could honour Allman and his group, which created the “bedrock foundation of modern Southern music”.
Aldean, Rucker and Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum and more artists, which have yet to be announced, will perform a tribute to Allman on 7 June.
The awards show will also feature performances from Little Big Town, Kelsea Ballerini, Florida George Line with The Chainsmokers, Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, and Miranda Lambert.
The 2017 CMT Music Awards, hosted by Nashville actor/singer Charles Esten, will be broadcast live from the Music City Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
