Jay Z wins another court battle over album copyright

Jay Z has won another legal battle, this time against a sound engineer who worked on his Vol 3… The Life and Times of S. Carter album.
Chauncey Mahan claimed he should have been given co-ownership of the master recordings, but on Wednesday (24Feb16), the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed Jay Z’s win.
Following a district court verdict, the appeals court officials ruled Mahan had waited too long to pursue his copyright claims.
The unfortunate engineer must now pay the defendants’ attorney fees for his initial loss and cover their costs for the appeal as well.
