The martial arts star has appeared on the big screen with Kristopher Van Varenberg, 21, in several previous films, but now they’re stepping up their efforts with roles in comedy Welcome to the Jungle, thriller Enemies Closer, and action movie Universal Soldier: A New Dimension.
Van Damme has defended his decision to help with his son’s career as it’s tough landing a break in Hollywood.
He tells U.K. TV show This Morning, “I have to (help him), because here’s the problem – it’s not easy to get launched in the film business and me, as a father, if I can help my son to become famous – and my daughter – I think why not? I think it’s cool I can use some of my name to help them. If they are no good they will not survive.”
