Jennifer Esposito wows NCIS castmates with gluten-free treats

Jennifer Esposito has turned her NCIS co-stars onto the delights of clean eating by bringing them treats from her New York bakery.
The actress, who suffers from coeliac disease, decided to ‘break bread’ with her new TV co-stars on the hit drama and brought them cakes made at her vegan, gluten-free, allergy-friendly bakery, Jennifer’s Way. Though she admits they were initially a little wary to try her snacks.
“It’s just making food in a cleaner way,” she shared. “People were like ‘Ugh’ when I brought in my cupcakes and chocolate cookies, they were like, ‘What’s in it?’ I was like, ‘Apple sauce and quinoa…’ They didn’t wanna taste it.”
But co-star Wilmer Valderrama took a bite and became a changed man.
“Life is majorly different,” he told the co-hosts of U.S. TV show The Talk. “My life changed after that first bite.”
Jennifer, who was once married to Bradley Cooper, launched the East Village bakery in 2012 after she was diagnosed with coeliac disease, meaning she has an intolerance for wheat and other products with gluten.
She lashed out at CBS TV bosses in 2012 after she was cut from law drama Blue Bloods. Esposito told the TV bosses she needed a limited schedule because of her illness and they responded by putting her character, Jackie Curtola, on an indefinite leave.
