It’s a girl! Newlyweds Jessica Alba and Cash Warren welcomed their first child into the world June 8 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Jessica Alba took a moment to appreciate all the new things that pregnancy brings, telling People magazine, “It’s awesome. It’s the best time ever. I have two movies coming out, a baby, a fiancé – everything. I’m more tired, more hungry than normal. I don’t know if anyone wants me in their movies [when I’m] six months pregnant. I’ll get the fire and I’ll want to work again, but right now it’s a time to relax and sit back. I bought a new house a couple weeks ago. I’m in nesting phase.”

Some women might find pregnancy stressful but Alba on the other hand told E!’s Daily 10 co-host Debbie Matenopoulos, “Being pregnant is kind of like a sedative… everything’s just chill.”

“I’ve never dealt with cleavage before… it’s a whole new thing,” the mom-to-be confessed to Tyra Banks on The Tyra Banks Show, I’ve increased from a 32B to a 34D!”

Delving into her Mexican background, Alba told Latina magazine, “I wish to God that my dad spoke Spanish to my brother and me, but he didn’t grow up with it. I want my kids to speak Spanish. I don’t even want them to speak English for maybe the first two to three years, until pre-school. We’re in the United States so they’re going to learn it anyway.”

“I’ve always loved kids, wanted kids; it’s kind of perfect,” she said during a Today show appearance. As for her changing body, “You go with what’s happening… but it’s a shock to the system. I was never one to emphasize my looks… [being pregnant] I feel really blessed, feel really lucky. I might go more indie for a while… do more character-driven stuff for a while.”

At Glamour magazine’s kickoff luncheon for V-Day’s 10th Anniversary Alba joked about her growing baby bump as she performed “My Short Skirt,” a scene from Eve Ensler’s Vagina Monologues: “I hope [my dress] won’t pop while I’m up here. And if it does, you’re all women, and I think you’ll understand it. [When you’re pregnant], your breasts are engorged and your stomach is getting bigger. . . . And the ass, too, that’s getting bigger by the second!”

Ryan Seacrest asked Alba on the red carpet of the Oscars (seen here) about whether or not she’d be breastfeeding and she replied off the cuff, “That’s really personal,” but then gave in and admitted, “yes, it’s good for the baby.” She did keep the due date to herself saying, “I’m kind of keeping that secret.”
