Joey + Rory make chart history in the U.S.

Terminally ill singer Joey Feek has been given another reason to smile after becoming the first artist to top both the U.S. Christian and Country Albums charts in almost a decade.
Joey and her husband Rory have become the first act to hit number one on both Billboard countdowns since Alabama managed the feat in 2006 with Songs of Inspiration.
Joey + Rory’s Hymns hit number one on the Top Christian Albums chart on Thursday (25Feb16) and debuted at number one on the Country Albums chart earlier this week (beg22Feb16).
Rory tells Billboard, “Only God could make something like this happen.”
His wife began chemotherapy for stage four cervical cancer in 2014. She relapsed in 2015 and is currently under hospice care.
“I communicated to my wife the good news about her record,” Rory adds. “I call it her project, because the Hymns album is one that she has always wanted to make, and she’s worked so hard to make it happen, in spite of the difficult circumstances she’s facing.
“Her response, through tears, was, ‘No, honey, this is God’s record. He’s gonna be the one that gets all the glory.’ And she’s right.”
