John Cale recruits Sky Ferreira and Animal Collective for anniversary shows

Veteran rocker John Cale has enlisted the likes of Sky Ferreira and Animal Collective to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Velvet Underground & Nico album.
The founding member of The Velvet Underground will perform the project in its entirety on Thursday (16Nov17) and Friday (17Nov17) at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York City, where he will hit the stage for John Cale’s 75th Birthday Celebration: A Live Audio-Spectrum from Dissonance to Deconstruction on Saturday (18Nov17).
The concerts will feature Cale performing “bespoke arrangements of some of his classics and rarely heard songs, as well as a glimpse into the future with unreleased material”.
He will be joined onstage by members of Wordless Music Orchestra and Chorus for the first two shows, as well as a string of very special guests, including MGMT, Tunde Adebimpe of TV on the Radio, and Kurt Vile, for his three-night run at the venue.
