Jordana Brewster confirmed for Fast & Furious 9

Jordana Brewster is officially returning for Fast & Furious 9.

The actress played Mia Toretto in five of the eight Fast & Furious movies and was the love interest for Paul Walker’s central character, Brian O’Conner.

When Walker tragically died in 2013, filming was underway on Furious 7, so the film was changed to write him out of the franchise, and his final scene saw Brian driving off into the sunset with Mia and their child.

On Thursday (June 27, 2019), Brewster shared a snap of herself with co-stars Michelle Rodriguez and Ludacris on the set of the ninth installment, which is currently filming in the U.K, writing: “Feels good to be back with family.”

Vin Diesel also shared a video from the set with Brewster, who plays his on-screen sister, adding: “OK, we are here, it is Day 4 and we are still in gratitude because it is such a beautiful place to shoot. We love shooting in London.”

It is unknown how the franchise will explain Brewster’s return, in relation to Walker’s character Brian.

Fast & Furious 9 is set to be released in May 2020, with Tyrese Gibson and Nathalie Emmanuel also returning for the penultimate movie in the saga.
