Julianne Moore uses Snapchat to communicate with her teenagers

Julianne Moore has resorted to using social media to keep in touch with her teenage children.
The Still Alice actress and her director husband Bart Freundlich are parents to son Caleb, 19, and 15-year-old daughter Liv.
When it comes to keeping the family in touch, Julianne shared during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night (13Sep17) that she finds Snapchat to be the quickest form of communication.
“I used to communicate primarily in bitmojis, because they’re so efficient,” said Julianne, referring to the popular cartoon avatars. “But then I realised I could get to them faster with Snapchat. You can text, you can bitmoji all you want, no one will answer you. But if you Snapchat them, then they’ll answer you right away.”
Julianne gave examples of some of the recent Snapchats she has sent Liv too. One message included a selfie photo of her with the caption, “Send me a pic of you friends,” while another snap included the message “Are there any boys there?”
“I’m just modern. Super super modern all the time,” joked Julianne of her technology use.
Meanwhile, the 56-year-old also spoke about her role in upcoming movie Kingsman: The Golden Circle, in which she plays a villain named Poppy. When it came to crafting her charming yet nasty character, Julianne explained that she took inspiration from Gene Hackman’s Lex Luthor in the 1978 Superman movie.
“He and Valerie Perrine were in this basement, just acting like regular people but they were supervillains. And they were so funny. So, I was kind of inspired by that,” she added.
