Kathryn Fiore facing long road to recovery after almost dying during child birth

Actress Kathryn Fiore is facing months of intensive medical treatment after almost losing her life while giving birth to her first child, Alice, last month (May13). The Mission: Impossible III actress suffered a uterine haemorrhage a lost a huge amount of blood, before suffering organ failure after going into septic shock following an emergency Caesarean section on 28 May (13).
The 33 year old required emergency dialysis and is now stable after 12 days under doctors’ care, but she is facing months of physical therapy to learn how to walk and use her hands again. Alice suffered breathing difficulties but was released from hospital after 10 days.
The actress’ husband Gabriel Tigerman and members of her family have reached out to fans in a bid to ask for donations to cover spiralling medical costs and future therapy sessions. A page has been set up on fundraising website Giveforward.com. Fans have currently raised over $45,000 (£29,000) of the $200,000 (£129,000) goal.
A message on the site reads, “Peonies and plush toys would have been appreciated under normal circumstances, but what the family needs now is financial aid from those who are in the position to contribute.”
