Katie Melua covers Fields of Gold for charity

Katie Melua has recorded a cover of classic tune Fields of Gold as the official single for charity event Children In Need.
The 33-year-old singer has laid down her own version of Sting’s famous song, and premiered it on BBC Radio 2 on Thursday (02Nov17).
“I hope it goes on to make a real and lasting difference to the lives of disadvantaged children across the UK,” Katie said of the track, which she will perform live for the first time on the televised fundraising event Children in Need on 17 November.
While Fields of Gold was written by Sting, Katie was inspired by Eva Cassidy’s 1996 version.
The tune will be released as a charity single on 3 November, with all profits going to Children in Need.
