Keira Knightley’s stalker detained in psychiatric hospital

A stalker who menaced Keira Knightley and her musician husband James Righton has been detained indefinitely in a psychiatric hospital.
Mark Revill, 50, sent a string of abusive and threatening tweets to Keira and James earlier this year (17), breaching a lifetime restraining order that banned him from contacting the star or coming within 100 metres of her London home.
He appeared at Blackfriars Crown Court on Monday (06Nov17), and according to the Daily Mail newspaper he is now being detained at London’s John Howard Centre under Britain’s Mental Health Act.
As part of the restraining order, Revill was given a mandatory six month Mental Health Treatment Requirement and a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement of 30 days.
In September (17) he was handed a suspended eight week suspended for 12 months after admitting sending abusive tweets to the Pirates of the Caribbean star and the Klaxons musician.
Using the name Mark McCattipuss, he wrote on Twitter, “My campaign of disobedience continues in Canonbury tonight. JR and KK are not going to get much help from the police.”
The messages, which also included indecent images of children, breached the restraining order he received for menacing the actress and Klaxons musician by turning up uninvited at their home, delivering bizarre letters and meowing through the letter box.
In a statement read in court last year (16) the actress, who has a two-year-old daughter named Edie, revealed the toll Revill’s campaign took on her and her family
“This man has caused me a lot of stress and panic,” she wrote. “I am scared every time I go outside. When I return home I have to look behind me concerned, I don’t know who might be in the shadows.
“I have had fan mail through the door in the past but never has it been this strange or concerning. The thought of him being on the other side of the door has left me quite shaken.”
