Kid Rock donates $5,000 to Sutherland Springs massacre victims’ family

Kid Rock has donated $5,000 (£3,800) to the family of 10 Sutherland Springs massacre victims.
The Holcombe family lost three generations of members in Sunday’s (05Nov17) sick shooting incident at the Texas town’s First Baptist Church – and one of those killed was pregnant with a new addition.
Friends of the grieving family members have launched a GoFundMe page to raise cash to help them honour their dead, and Kid Rock has been among those who have helped swell the fundraiser to beyond $545,000 (£415,000).
Actors William Hurt and Mark Ruffalo are also among the celebrities digging deep for the cause.
The GoFundMe page page features a letter that reads: “We are putting this together on behalf of Sarah Holcombe (Slavin) and her brothers John and Scott, who have lost half of their large family.
“Their father was the guest speaker at church that day; Sarah was running late. She has lost her father, mother, brother, sister-in-law, four nieces and nephews, and her best friend since childhood, Tara. This means her brother John has lost his mom, dad, brother, wife, and three kids (with two more injured) in one day.
“Keep them all in your prayers. If we could all gather up some financial support to send this family during this devastation, it would be a blessing. This is too much to bear on their own, let’s be the Church! No amount of money will ever be enough, but it can take off a large burden.”
Disgraced former U.S. Air Force member Devin Kelly shot and killed 26 people at the church on Sunday before turning his gun on himself after he was chased down by armed civilians.
