Kim Cattrall laughs off Justin Trudeau photo blunder

Kim Cattrall couldn’t be “more proud” after TV bosses mistook her as the mother of Canada’s new Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau.
The 44-year-old politician was the subject of a piece on U.S. news show 60 Minutes on Sunday (06Mar16), and producers included an old black-and-white photo of his father, former Canadian leader Pierre Trudeau, standing beside a fair-haired woman, identified on TV as his mum, Margaret Trudeau.
However, the image was actually of Sex and the City star Kim, taken back in March, 1981 at the Genie Awards in Toronto. Rumours at the time suggested the pair had been dating.
Amused fans took to Twitter.com to alert the 59-year-old actress to the photo blunder, and she laughed off the mishap by sharing a funny tweet with Justin and 60 Minutes bosses.
Reposting the shot, she wrote, “@JustinTrudeau @SixtyMinutes I have a son who is the Prime Minister of Canada? I couldn’t b (sic) more proud”.
Producers at CBS, the network behind the series, have since issued an apology for the mix-up.
“We regret the error on one of the several video and still images shown of Margaret Trudeau,” they stated to The Hollywood Reporter on Monday (07Mar16). “It was corrected online last night.”
The British-Canadian actress does not have children.
