Kim Kardashian denies copying Beyonce with Met Gala after-party dress

Kim Kardashian has rubbished claims her Met Gala after-party dress copied a previous look by Beyonce.

The reality star attended the Versace-hosted bash following the prestigious event in New York City on 7 May (18), which was also attended by the likes of Cardi B, Madonna and Kate Bosworth.

Kim turned up to the party wearing a risque leather mini dress by the Italian luxury label, which was decorated with bondage-style belts and buckles. And though many fashion lovers noted that Beyonce wore the same garment in 2011 when she posed in a photoshoot for Complex magazine, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star credited her look to another stylish woman.

“For the Versace after-party, I kept my glam the same and changed into a bondage-inspired Versace dress. I found the exact dress Helena Christensen wore in 1992, so I loved being able to re-create her entire look,” the 37-year-old wrote in a post on her website. “She’s such a fashion icon!”

Kim posed up a storm alongside chief designer Donatella Versace, and captioned a photo on her Instagram page: “The Versace Met after party was (flame emoji) All of the pics on my app.”

The mother of three was also seen mingling with British Vogue Editor-in-Chief Edward Enninful.

At the Gala, hosted at the Metropolitan Museum of Art earlier in the evening, Kim showcased another Versace number, and paid tribute to the Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination theme of the event by wearing a floor-length sparkly golden dress decorated with a cross. While the beauty businesswoman’s glamorous talons were courtesy of Roar singer Katy Perry.

Katy actually flew my nails on her plane over to me from LA LOL (laugh out loud),” she posted on Twitter. “They are just glued on! So had to show her!”

Kim’s half-sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner also attended the Gala, wearing outfits by Alexander Wang and Off-White respectively, though husband Kanye West was absent from this year’s rendezvous.
