Kristen Stewart took on Charlie’s Angels because Elizabeth Banks ‘always vouched’ for her

Kristen Stewart signed up for the new Charlie’S Angels movie because she felt director Elizabeth Banks always had her back.
The 29-year-old ditched blockbusters in favour of independent projects in recent years, but will return to the spotlight in the reboot of the crime-fighting franchise later this year (19). Explaining the decision in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar U.K.’s October issue, the actress explained that it was down to her connection with Elizabeth.
“I’m a huge fan of Liz Banks and I always felt she vouched for me,” she explained. “I always felt, like, she doesn’t think I’m a freak.”
The pair met at a Venice Film Festival party a few years ago, when the Pitch Perfect 2 director encouraged the Twilight actress to let loose on the dance floor when she felt inhibited.
“She said what would be the most annoying thing to hear from anyone else which was, ‘You’ve got to have fun with it’,” she recalled. “I was like, ‘No s**t! I’m trying.'”
Stewart will star alongside Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska in the upcoming reboot, which debuts in cinemas in November.
