KRS-One mixes up his Beastie Boys in new tribute song

Hip-hop legend Krs-One has been left red-faced after paying tribute to the wrong Beastie Boys star on a new song dedicated to late rappers.
Adam Yauch, known as MCA, died in 2012 after losing his battle with cancer, but KRS-One’s latest album, The World Is MIND, features a cut called Hip Hop Speaks From Heaven – and includes a shout out to surviving Beastie Boys member Adam ‘Ad-Rock’ Horovitz reports XXLMag.com.
On the track, he raps, “Like a late fog in the mist/I see King Ad-Rock/And rest in peace Nate Dogg/Their names and their natures will last.”
KRS-One also namechecks the likes of Tupac Shakur, Notorious B.I.G., Big Pun, Eazy-E, J Dilla, and A Tribe Called Quest’s Phife Dawg on the tribute track.
Neither the Sound of Da Police star nor Ad-Rock has commented on the apparent mix-up.
