Kygo to close Rio Games and launch Olympic Channel

Norwegian DJ and producer Kygo will help close the Rio Olympics in Brazil on Sunday (21Aug16).
After two weeks of competition, the Games will end this weekend, and the electronic dance music star has been invited to perform his latest single Carry Me with vocalist Julia Michaels at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
His show-stopping gig will also help launch a new digital Olympic Channel, dedicated to bringing fans Games-related content for weeks and months to come.
“The opportunity to be a part of the Closing Ceremony of the Olympic Games in Rio is a huge milestone in my career and it will be the biggest performance of my life,” Kygo says in a press release. “I’ve been a sports fan forever, and to be able to combine this with my music and help launch something like the Olympic Channel is a dream come true.”
Mark Parkman, the general manager of the Olympic Channel, has revealed Kygo and his music “will be an important element of the Olympic Channel”.
