Lady Antebellum honour Gregg Allman with Midnight Rider cover

Country stars Lady Antebellum saluted late rocker Gregg Allman on Saturday (27May17) by performing a cover of his classic hit Midnight Rider onstage in California.
The Allman Brothers Band leader passed away at the age of 69, just hours before Lady Antebellum’s tour stop in Mountain View, and the trio decided to pay tribute with a special addition to its set list.
The singers shared footage of the concert cover on Instagram on Sunday (28May17), and in the accompanying caption, wrote, “#greggallman tribute last night. you’ll be missed.”
Lady Antebellum weren’t the only musicians to perform the track in memory of Allman shortly after his death – country pal Eric Church also treated his fans to a rendition of the ’70s tune at the close of his Holdin’ My Own Tour in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday night.
