Lana Condor agreed to ‘best friend’ contract with film co-star Noah Centineo

Lana Condor and Noah Centineo agreed to be “best friend professionals” before they made To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before.
The rising stars rose to prominence after appearing in the Netflix teen romance film, which was based on Jenny Han’s 2014 novel of the same name.
Before shooting began, Lana and Noah spent some time getting to know each other, but during an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday night (10Jan19), she explained that she made clear from the beginning that she didn’t want a real-life relationship with her co-star.
“We had just come back from a hot yoga class and went to his apartment and we ordered pizza,” the 21-year-old recalled. “And it was kind of like, oh, hot yoga, pizza, what’s happening? It was right before we shot the movie, just trying to get to know each other. And I felt something! I looked at him and I was like, ‘Noah, it’s not going to happen between us.'”
After breaking the news to Noah, she insisted that they needed to be “best friend professionals” on set. And in making that decision, the duo reflected the movie’s plot in which her character Lara Jean agrees to be the fake girlfriend of Noah’s character Peter.
“I was like, ‘It’s just not gonna happen.’ And he was like, ‘Yeah it’s not gonna happen.’ And I was like, ‘Great,'” the actress divulged. “So, we kind of did what we did in (the) To All the Boys movie. We kind of made a contract and set boundaries.”
Lana went on to share that she was happy she made the pact with Noah because the movie “turned out great” and they are now set to make a follow-up together.
“We still have that spark. Absolutely,” she confessed. “We were just on the phone the other day just talking about the sequel.”
