LaToya Luckett still can’t believe she’ll be playing Dionne Warwick

Former Destiny’S Child star Latoya Luckett is still pinching herself after Dionne Warwick personally chose her to front a new biopic.
The singer and actress will play the soulful star in a new movie that begins filming later this year (17), and she reveals Dionne has given her permission to call at any time to ask for help and advice.
“I’m so honoured that she chose me,” Latoya tells WWD.com. “I’ll actually get to pick up the phone and call her if I’m wondering what went through her head during a scene.”
Luckett will also be re-recording all of Warwick’s songs for the soundtrack, adding, “I listened to her albums and tried to copy her a little bit. It’s like acting but for singing. That woman is a vocalist, so this is going to be a task.”
The new role could not have come at a better time for Latoya, whose TV series Rosewood was recently cancelled.
She played hunky star Morris Chestnut’s love interest on the show.
