Laura Prepon injected herself with hormones

Actress Laura Prepon once injected herself with hormones in a “desperate” bid to fit into the Hollywood stereotype.
The Orange Is the New Black star reveals she spent years battling body image issues during her youth, and her lack of self-confidence led her to trying all sorts of beauty treatments and “crazy” diets.
Laura, who rose to fame on hit sitcom That ’70s Show, admits none of the techniques had the desired effect she was seeking, but she sympathises with young stars facing the same struggles today.
“I totally understand that girls would go through the thing of torturing themselves with crash diets,” the 35-year-old told E! News. “I injected myself with hormones, and all these crazy things, because I was so desperate to look a certain way, which ultimately just ended up backfiring.”
Laura has since learned to love her figure and has dedicated herself to living the cleanest life possible for her body so she can take care of her looks.
“Listen to your body, know what your body needs…,” she explained. “Honestly, I think, not to sound cliche, (but) truly embrace who you are. Embrace every curve, and embrace everything about yourself.”
And young fans needn’t look too far to find a show which embraces women of all shapes and sizes.
“When you look at a show like Orange, all these women are so gorgeous, and we all look so vastly different,” she continued. “Our show just celebrates individuality so much. Just really be comfortable with you are and really embrace it. There’s only one you.”
Laura has shared her diet and lifestyle advice in her new book, The Stash Plan: Your 21-Day Guide to Shed Weight, Feel Great, and Take Charge of Your Health.
