Lea Michele: ‘I’ll always return to Ryan Murphy’

Lea Michele is excited to be working on a new show, but will always return to writer and director Ryan Murphy if he wants her.
The 30-year-old actress soared to fame after appearing in Ryan’s hit musical programme Glee and also appeared in his hit series Scream Queens.
Now she’s moving away from his work with new ABC show The Mayor, however she insisted she’d be thrilled at the chance to work with Ryan again in the future if the opportunity arises.
“Oh my god! Of course!” she gushed to Entertainment Tonight when asked if she’ll appear in another of his productions one day. “But I’m really excited I’m going to be on a new show, and I love my boys on the show. I’ve been working with girls the past couple of years, but I love my Scream Queens, and I obviously love Ryan Murphy. So I will come back whenever he will have me.”
The Mayor is about a hip-hop artist who runs for mayor in a bid to promote his new material, but actually ends up winning. Lea did plenty of research into politics for her alter ego Valentina Barella and enjoyed the challenge of getting into a new character.
“I mean, obviously I’ve played very driven characters before, (but my character’s) love and passion for politics is sort of new for me. So I’ve been brushing up on a lot of my legal jargon,” she laughed, perhaps referring to her determined Glee alter ego Rachel Berry.
On top of her growing acting resume Lea added a second album to her list of accomplishments this year (17), releasing record Places in April.
