Lemmy statue erected at rocker’s favourite bar

A statue of heavy rock icon Lemmy has been erected in his favourite Los Angeles bar.
The late Motorhead frontman, who died in December (15) after a short battle with cancer, has been immortalised in bronze at the Rainbow Bar and Grill.
Fans launched a crowdfunded effort to raise the $23,000 (GBP17,700) needed to have the statue crafted shortly after his death and the money was raised by February (16). Artist Travis Moore made the lifelike Lemmy from a photograph of the rock star taken by Robert John.
The statue was officially unveiled last month (Aug16) and it has now been erected on the patio area of the Sunset Strip bar, where Lemmy often enjoyed his favourite tipple, Jack Daniels and Coke.
