The Chandra Levy/Gary Condit story, virtually ignored by The CBS Evening News with Dan Rather, produced a ratings bonanza for the cable news channels, the New York Post reported Thursday, citing the latest cable ratings by Nielsen Media Research. According to Nielsen, ratings for Fox News Channel in July were up more than 136 percent compared to the same month a year ago. CNN’s ratings jumped 44 percent, while MSNBC’s rose 17 percent.
