Actors Helen Hunt and Paul Reiser are reportedly set for a TV return in a revival of their hit ’90s sitcom Mad About You.

Producers at Sony Television are said to be in informal talks with the stars to launch a reboot of the show, almost two decades after it went off air.

Sources tell TV Line the comedy series would be brought back for a limited run, with Paul and Helen’s married New Yorker characters Jamie and Paul Buchman dealing with their daughter heading off to college.

Mad About You ran for seven seasons until 1999, with the series’ finale featuring a flash forward 22 years into the future to show fans how life turned out for the Buchmans.

“Our thinking at the time was, ‘Let’s make sure we never get tempted to come back – let’s tell them what happens,'” Reiser recently told People magazine of their reasons for the ending.

However, he admitted he would be interested in reprising his role if there was public interest.

“If we can find the story to tell, and anybody’s interested, I’d be open to it,” he continued. “To me, it’s interesting when I see my kids are growing and leaving the house. It’s like, ‘Oh.’ It’s like that moment when you get married. It’s like we’re in a new world that we don’t know the rules of.”
