Margot Robbie: ‘Playing Sharon Tate made me sad at times’

Margot Robbie experienced moments of great sadness as she portrayed tragic actress Sharon Tate in Quentin Tarantino’s new movie Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

The slain 1960s icon’s sister gave Margot Tate’s jewelry to wear in the film and the Australian star admits sometimes the rings and earrings weighed heavily on her.

“It was sometimes very sad to be that closely connected with real-life Sharon,” Robbie said in a new interview with U.S. morning show Today. “It kind of hit you at moments and then suddenly the tragedy of it all would kind of hit you.”

Valley Of The Dolls star Tate and her unborn baby were slaughtered by members of Charles Manson’s cult The Family.

The late actress’ sister, Deborah, initially slammed the film and Robbie’s casting, but she gave Tarantino her blessing after meeting with the moviemaker.
