James Hetfield, Metallica’s lead singer and guitarist, is now in a rehabilitation facility undergoing treatment for “alcoholism and other addictions,” the band announced Thursday.
“James has entered an undisclosed facility, and he will continue to receive treatment until further notice. Until then, we have postponed all current activities, including recording sessions for our new album, as well as the July 29 launch party for metallica.com,” the band said in a statement posted on its Web site.
