Metallica to release Bataclan live album for Record Store Day

Record Store Day ambassadors Metallica will mark this year’s event by releasing an album they recorded live at the Bataclan – the Paris theatre that became the site of a massacre in November (15).
Proceeds from sales of Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite, Metallica!: Live at Le Bataclan will benefit the Give for France charity, which was set up to honour the victims of the terror attacks in Paris.
The tracks were recorded during Metallica’s Bataclan gig in June, 2003.
Armed terrorists stormed the venue during an Eagles of Death Metal show at the end of last year (15) and opened fire on the audience, killing 89 people.
Meanwhile, Lars Ulrich and his bandmates were a big part of the first Record Store Day in 2008, appearing at Rasputin Records in Mountain View, California. Their demo tape No Life Til Leather was a Record Store Day release last year (15), and bassist Robert Trujillo’s biopic about Jaco Pastorius was named the official film of Record Store Day 2014.
