Michael Buble is set to host the 2018 Juno Awards after he pulled out of presenting the ceremony this year (17) due to his son’s cancer battle.
The Everything singer and his wife Luisana Lopilato revealed that their son Noah, now four, was battling cancer in November, 2016 and they subsequently cancelled all work commitments, with
Michael dropping out of hosting the BRIT Awards in February and his native Canada’s annual music ceremony in April.
Following his son’s recovery, Michael is slowly returning to the spotlight, and has been confirmed as host of the awards ceremony in Vancouver on 25 March (18).
“I’m so grateful for the opportunity to host such an iconic night in Canadian music,” he said in a statement. “To be able to host the Juno Awards in my hometown is both an honor and a privilege.”
He is also set to return to performing in 2018. Two concerts in July have been announced so far; one in Croke Park in Dublin and a headlining set at Barclaycard presents British Summer Time in London’s Hyde Park.
