Man Of Steel villain Michael Shannon has emerged as the frontrunner to play a mutant in the Deadpool sequel.
The 2017 Oscar nominee, who played General Zod in the 2016 Superman movie, is the favorite to play Cable in Ryan Reynolds’ new movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Sources tell the publication Stranger Things actor David Harbour is also on the shortlist to play Cable.

Newcomer Zazie Beetz recently joined the cast for the sequel – she’ll play Domino in Deadpool 2.
