Mira Sorvino settles lawsuit over son’s dog attack

Actress Mira Sorvino and her husband have been granted $100,000 (£76,000) for their son after he suffered a horrifying dog bite.
The Mighty Aphrodite star’s little boy, Johnny Backus, was attacked in September, 2013 after accompanying his mother to view a house they were looking to buy.
The owner’s dog chomped at the then-seven-year-old’s legs, and he had to be hospitalised for stitches.
Mira’s husband, Christopher Backus, filed suit against the home owner on behalf of their son, who was left traumatised by the incident, which left him with some scarring. He also developed a fear of dogs, although the boy, now 11, has since gained enough confidence to be around the family’s pooches.
According to TMZ.com, the court dispute has now been settled, with the figure more than enough to cover the kid’s medical and legal expenses.
