It’s been a highly rated, interesting and controversial season for Dancing with the Stars, a season that comes to a close tonight–well, really tomorrow night.

Tonight is the final chance for the remaining three “stars” to strut and twirl their stuff as they prepare for tomorrow night’s results show.

Spice Girl/former Eddie Murphy paramour Melanie Brown, racecar driver Helio Castroneves, and renowned singer/fainter Marie Osmond comprise the final three, the latter of whom has had an especially difficult season.

Osmond has endured the death of her father, the admission into rehab of her son, and the aforementioned fainting incident heard ‘round the nation, all of which may factor into heavy sympathy votes from fans. But she won’t be the recipient of sympathy on the dance floor from her competitors Brown and Castroneves.

Tonight, the final three are charged with freestyle dancing and a judges’-choice dance.

The plotlines just keep getting better and the ratings lower for How I Met Your Mother, the best laugh-track sitcom on television. Tonight, Barney’s (Neil Patrick Harris) timing couldn’t be worse–he loses his mojo just as he gets an invite to a Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show party. Model cameos include Heidi Klum, Marisa Miller, Miranda Kerr, Adriana Lima, Selita Ebanks and Alessandra Ambrosio. At least there’ll be a ratings spike tonight among males 18-34.
