Monday’s ‘Ego Trip’

ego trip’s The (White) Rapper Show – VH1

Set in the often-claimed birthplace of hip-hop music, the New York’s South Bronx, VH1 and hosts Michael “MC Serch” Berrin and producer Prince Paul, set out to find who’s next in line after The Beastie Boys and Eminem to be deemed a very rare title–the ever-elusive successful white rapper. Snow and Vanilla Ice need not apply.

Along the way pioneers such as Grandmaster Flash and Kurtis Blow will stop in to talk shop and show the 10 contestants the true meaning of the music. Hip-hop is often about economics, class, race, and survival–not the bling and private jets you hear about today. Expect the VH1 show to bring it back to the roots somewhat.

Ego trip’s The (White) Rapper Show airs Mondays at 10:30/9:30c on VH1.
