Mozart La Para is Roc Nation Latin’s first artist

Dominican rapper Mozart La Para has signed on as the first artist to Jay Z’s Roc Nation Latin division.
Superstar Romeo Santos was appointed chief executive officer of the new arm of the rap mogul’s Roc Nation label in June (16), and now he has brought La Para on board to be represented by the company.
“Mozart La Para has created his own signature style fusing urban and tropical music and has created a unique sound for himself,” Santos tells Billboard.com. “Here at Roc Nation Latin we recognise his talents and today we welcome him.”
“It’s an honour to be a part of Roc Nation,” La Para adds. “Having two great powers like Romeo Santos and Jay Z guiding you and helping your music to be universal is a blessing.”
La Para began his career in 2002 and his songs Aqui Nadie Toca and Toy Enamorao topped the U.S. Billboard Tropical Songs chart and won six Premios Soberano Awards. In 2015, a film about the 37-year-old’s life, titled Pueto Pa’ Mi, was released.
