Naomie Harris ‘desperately wants’ Daniel Craig to return as James Bond

Naomie Harris has sent out a plea to Daniel Craig to return as James Bond.
The 48-year-old actor has played the suave spy in four movies in the franchise – Casino Royale in 2006, Quantum of Solace in 2008, Skyfall in 2012 and Spectre in 2015.
However, Daniel called a potential return to the films into question when he said during an interview last year (15) that he would rather “slash his wrists” than reprise the role for a further movie.
Since then, stars including Tom Hiddleston, Aidan Turner and James Norton have been linked to the part, but one person keen to see a comeback from Daniel is Naomie, who plays Eve Moneypenny in Skyfall and Spectre.
“He’s an extraordinary actor and I think he’s the best modern Bond that we have had and I desperately want him back,” she told reporters at the BFI London Film Festival screening of her new film Moonlight on Thursday night (06Oct16). “Come back Daniel!”
Taking on a role in such a well-established franchise can be a daunting prospect for any actress. And Naomie says it was Daniel’s kind demeanour that helped her stay calm during her first day on the Skyfall set.
“Of course I want to be back with Daniel, I started with Daniel,” she said. “When I was nervous on my first day, it was Daniel who calmed my nerves.”
Naomie’s comments come after producers Callum McDougall, who has worked on nine Bond movies, told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme his fellow producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson are “absolutely” keen for Daniel to sign up for another Bond movie.
When asked last month (Sep16) who would be the next James Bond, McDougall replied: “I wish I knew. We’d love Daniel. We would love Daniel to return as Bond.
“Without any question he is absolutely Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson’s first choice and I know they are hoping for him to come back.”
Host Nick Robinson questioned McDougall further and asked: “If he signs (on) you’ll welcome him back?” To which the producer confirmed: “Absolutely.”
