No 3D magic for penultimate Harry Potter film

The film bosses had hoped to make Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1 the film franchise’s first 3D movie, but they’ve run out of time.

A studio representative has confirmed that the film boffins behind the project couldn’t complete 3D conversion in time for the movie’s 19 November (10) release.

As a result, the film makes history by becoming the first major motion picture to cancel a previously announced 3D release due to production problems.

Studio bosses are adamant the same problems won’t hamper the final Harry Potter film, Deathly Hallows Part 2, which will be converted into 3D in time for the movie’s release next summer (11).
