Phil Collins’ ex-wife and current girlfriend Orianne Cevey has settled her messy divorce battle with her second husband.
The Easy Lover singer split from Orianne in 2008 after nine years of marriage, and she was awarded $46.76 million in their divorce settlement, making it one of the biggest divorce payouts in U.K. history.
She went on to wed property developer Charles Fouad Mejjati, but they split in 2015, and Orianne subsequently reunited with Phil, who was expected to testify in her divorce trial later this month (Apr17) to help her overturn the post-nuptial agreement she signed with Mejjati.
However, it now seems like he won’t be needed in court after all as both parties reached an unspecified settlement on Friday (07Apr17).
She told New York Post gossip column Page Six in a statement, “We have amicably resolved our disputes in the best interest of our family and desire to move forward in a peaceful manner and to otherwise jointly raise our son. We both desire to put this chapter of our lives behind us and for others to respect our desire for privacy.”
Orianne had claimed she was forced to sign the agreement, which awarded him their multi-million dollar home in Miami, Florida and primary custody of their son Andrea, while she was under the influence of painkillers following a medical procedure and therefore legally incompetent.
Phil reportedly sat down with her lawyers in January (17) to be questioned about the case and was expected to take to the witness stand to testify about Orianne’s mental state at the time she signed the contract.
The 66-year-old rocker revealed he had reunited with Orianne, the mother of his sons Nicholas and Matthew, to Billboard in January, 2016. He said, “I’m actually back with my third wife. I haven’t really talked about it. We’ve been together for a while, and nobody’s noticed.”
