Pierce Brosnan confirms he’ll be back for Mamma Mia! sequel

Pierce Brosnan has confirmed his involvement in Mamma Mia 2.
It was announced on Friday (19May17) that the hit 2008 movie was getting a sequel, titled Here We Go Again!, with original stars Pierce, Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, Amanda Seyfried and Stellan Skarsgard all rumoured to be returning.
Pierce has delighted fans by confirming his role in the project, after he uploaded a snap of him and Meryl on the set of the first film, which was based around the hits of Swedish mega group ABBA.
“Do wanna dance, or do you wanna dance ? Mama Mia here we go again …” he posted.
The original movie was based on the popular West End and Broadway show of the same name, which was penned by ABBA stars Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus. It told the story of bride-to-be Sophie (Amanda) who wanted to find out who her father was before she walked down the aisle. Three of her mother’s (Meryl) exes were put in the frame, played by Pierce, Colin and Stellan.
Thandie Newton’s husband Ol Parker is writing and directing the sequel.
Pierce also took time out of his schedule to post about late actor Roger Moore on his Instagram account.
Sharing two pictures of the movie icon, who like Pierce once played the role of super sleuth James Bond, the 64-year-old actor wrote: “Dear Sir Roger Moore, It is indeed with a heavy heart that I hear the news of your passing this morning. You were a big part of my life, from The Saint to James Bond.. .you were a magnificent James Bond and one that lead the way for me, the world will miss you and your unique sense of humor for years to come. My sincerest condolences to your family and children. RIP.”
He also shared his condolences with Roger’s family.
The British actor passed away on Tuesday (23May17) at the age of 89 following a short battle with cancer.
